      Industrial Mg-Al carbonate is a remarkable additive for PVC. It plays a dual functional role in PVC processing. As a thermal stabilizer, it effectively captures HCl, retarding PVC degradation during high - temperature processing. Meanwhile, it exhibits excellent smoke suppression synergy. By decomposing endothermically, it dilutes combustible gases and forms a char layer, reducing smoke generation. This multi - functional product enhances PVC product quality, ensuring both thermal stability and safety, making it ideal for various PVC applications.

The mechanism of industrial grade Hydrotalcite in the thermal stability of PVC:

1.Formation of a protective film:

Industrial grade magnesium aluminum carbonate can form a uniform protective film on the surface of PVC during the PVC processing. This protective film can prevent the direct contact of oxygen, heat, etc. with the PVC molecular chains, reducing the damage to PVC caused by oxidation reactions and thermal effects. At the same time, it can also inhibit the diffusion of degradation products such as HCl, further slowing down the thermal degradation of PVC.

2.Inhibition of conjugated double - bond formation:

Under the action of heat, PVC molecular chains undergo HCl - elimination reactions, forming conjugated double - bond structures. The presence of conjugated double - bonds darkens the color of PVC and deteriorates its properties. Industrial - grade magnesium aluminum carbonate can bind to the active sites on the PVC molecular chains, preventing the further growth and expansion of conjugated double - bonds, thus maintaining the stability of the PVC molecular structure and its original properties.
