Product Description

Magnesium Aluminum Carbonate Non-Toxic and Environmentally Friendly for PVC and Polyether Polyols

Product Introduction:

Magnesium aluminum carbonate is mainly used as a heat stabilizer in PVC production and a halogen absorber in polyolefin production to improve processing stability. Its main feature is that it is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. Magnesium aluminum carbonate is a compound with a layered structure that does not contain heavy metals such as lead. When used as a PVC heat stabilizer, magnesium aluminum carbonate can neutralize and absorb HCl released by PVC due to thermal degradation, inhibit the autocatalytic effect of PVC thermal degradation, and is non-toxic, harmless, safe and environmentally friendly; when used as a halogen absorber, magnesium aluminum carbonate can effectively eliminate halogens and catalyst residues in polyolefin resins, thereby avoiding the formation of gel in the resin and corrosion of equipment.

Impact on the physical properties of PVC:

Magnesium aluminum carbonate with CAS No. 12304 - 65 - 3 generally has positive and some negligible impacts on the physical properties of PVC:

Positive impacts:

Thermal stability: It significantly improves PVC's thermal stability, allowing for more stable processing at high temperatures and reducing the risk of thermal degradation. This helps maintain the mechanical and dimensional stability of PVC products during manufacturing and in end - use applications.

Weather resistance: By enhancing stability, it also contributes to better weather resistance. PVC products with this stabilizer are less likely to discolor or degrade when exposed to sunlight and moisture, prolonging their service life.

Negligible impacts:

Mechanical properties: In appropriate amounts, it has little to no negative effect on key mechanical properties like tensile strength, elongation at break, and hardness. However, if used in excessive amounts, it might slightly reduce the flexibility of PVC, but this can usually be optimized through formulation adjustments.
